how do you know they "last", if you just got them?

Hi Thinker - many thanks for your question. There are really two scenarios 1) where you plan to restring your guitar immediately and 2) where you are keeping them to restring at a later time. When restringing your guitar immediately, just follow the steps in the care PDF we sent to you. These steps detail how to restring your guitar without damaging the strings and also how to care for the strings day-to-day as you play and store your guitar. If you plan to restring your guitar at a later date, it's best not to open the strings packing as they are vacuum sealed to ensure no environmental damage. These simple steps will ensure your strings last longer and deliver the tone and playability people love from Vibe Strings! I’m looking for medium gauge strings for my 12-string. where can i get them?

amazon has a nice selection of strings for your 12 string - careful tho, the heavier the gauge, the more stress on your guitar neck (and your fingers) but GOD - does it sound good??!!!!
