Better than those 3 times the price..because..
This provides moderate, stay in place, overall shaping and smoothing that gives other similar products a real run for the money. A Squeem compression garment it is not, but it it trumps a similar highly touted shaper I purchased from Nordstrom's for around $70 and is better constructed than Spanx I have tried. Other advantages from a design perspective: it has shoulder strap sliding adjustments in the front (finally someone got smart about that), has back and side coverage that minimizes back fat, and it's designed to be compatible with wider necklines and necklines that are somewhat lower in the back. The views for the black slip choice do a good job of illustrating the design attributes. As for fit, I ordered a medium. I am 5'5", busty, and wear a skirt size 8. The fit of this garment on me is snug but perfect (if a shaper constantly rides up, it is usually because it is too small, FYI). This slip makes wearing ponte knit dresses and skirts a no-stress, happy experience. This is one of my best buys from Amazon...go for it.

Comfortable
I'm 5'8 and weigh 170 lbs, so I got the large. When I got it, I didn't think there was any way I was going to be able to fit into it. It looked tiny! I was about to get it on and it fit just fine. I really like that I can wear my own bra. I didn't see or notice any difference, or lift with this shapewear, but that's probably because I'm small in that area.I felt slimmer in it, but I couldn't see much of a difference. Maybe it was my dress, but I didn't see anything special, I just felt slightly slimmer. It was really comfortable, not tight. I had almost forgotten I had it on by the end of the day. The bottom edge has a silicone lining to keep it from just rolling up and it does work! Mostly. It keeps it from staying down, but as I walked or would sit down, or crouch, I could feel the shapewear slowly ride up a little bit. I did have to keep pulling it down a little bit but it wasn't too bad. If it wasn't for that, this would have been perfect.

Not good, wish I had returned it
NO STARS IF I COULD. This was awful. I'm a size 18 and this was too large, barely compressed me at all. The worst part was the way it fit in the back and actually made my back fat from my bra worse! It did not take it away but accentuated it. I tried adjusting the straps to get it to fit differently under the arms, but it would not cover the area. The bottom also rode up so I was continually pulling the bottom edge down despite the rubber at the hem. There was dancing at the event I attended, but I didn't even try!Why did I keep this? I got it shortly before a business trip, tried it on quickly, packed it the next day and went out of town. Since I did not take any other shapewear with me I had to wear it. Otherwise I would have returned it when I tried it on the day of the event and realized it did not work.

Great shape wear!
I bought this shape wear to wear under a formal dress that I bought for my 5th anniversary dinner tomorrow night (July 12th). I tried it on with the dress today and for the first time in years, I finally like what I saw in the mirror. I am 5'9". I used to be a tiny 150 pounds when I was in the military, but after having 2 children I now weigh 200. I bought the XL and I absolutely love the fit! It's not too tight, but it still slims out the extra pregnancy skin on my belly and around my waist. I cannot wait to WOW my husband tomorrow night. I would definitely recommend this shape wear! The price is unbeatable compared to other "name brand" products. It also didn't ride up in the 15 minutes I had it on and it didn't rub or pinch my underarm area like some other reviews stated. If that is the case for you, then you may need to go up a size. I am very happy with this purchase! :)

I give up!
According to the size chart I needed XL. It went on easily, was actually a bit too big resulting in it being wrinkly & doing absolutely nothing. So I returned & sized down to a large, which didn't do much. I thought for sure, for sure the medium has to do SOMETHING, right? Well, it does something, but not much. If you just need a little smoothing out and aren't looking for much control, you still need to size down. No panels at the bustline like the picture, but it is cut like that & possibly could shape a tiny bit. This doesn't appear to smooth out the bra or panty line at all under a clingy dress.By the time I ordered the medium I was feeling a bit frustrated, so I also tried Supplim Women's Shapewear Body Shaper (no good if you have a generous bottom, I didn't try it but it looks like you could flip the straps to adjust in the front if you prefer) and Maidenform Flexees Women's Shapewear (Flexees Women's IA - Shapewear). In the end, the Flexees won; it has a similar feature to come up past the bra and it smoothed it out so you couldn't see the line & the straps adjust in the front, which is a really nice feature. The one drawback on that one is the weird crotch & I will follow other reviewers' advice to modify it.

Would be great...if it didn't ride up under my dress
First of all...if you are large busted don't attempt to pull this on over your head as you will probably get stuck and die of suffocation. Thankfully my husband was there to extract me when I got stuck. So, step into it. Once I got it on I thought it was perfect-holds in the blobby bits without cutting off circulation. Very pleased at first. Then, after wearing it in the car, I arrived at my destination and had to readjust as it had ridden up under my dress and was now bulged around my waist. Thought perhaps it was just because of sitting down...nope. Spend most of the night repeatedly pulling it down in the ladies room. The reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 is because I tried it with a pair of snug jeans and a sweater and it stayed in place just fine, and looked great. So, if you're wearing something very snug, it should work fine. But otherwise try something else.

size not accurate
I am a size 10. I wanted this undergarment for smoother lines, but did not want to be sucked in like the SP...X does because it feels awful. I ordered the XL. It fits perfectly, comfortable and smooth, but it does ride up. Very frustrating. I have been pulling it down all morning! I do not really want it any bigger, but I am going to try the XXL in the black and see if it does not ride up.
