Wow! What a great product! I've purchased other types and they never worked accurately, way too short, and ended up in the trash. These come in a set of two and I tested them both on close to 20 different size pots from 8" to 24 round. Easy to use, easy to read the gauge dial, and thickness is just right. Read the instructions before you test your plant soil moisture levels because I use a paper towel to wipe the stem off each time to help prevent any rust over time. I have total confidence in my watering expertise now! LOL Recommended, and I'll update this review if that changes in a year.

I use this for my houseplants and my container garden, so I don't overwater them. It's super easy to use: Just poke it into the soil. I like watching the needle go up while I'm watering each plant. I wipe the probe off in between with a dry towel. I like that it has a long probe, so I can use it in my big plant pots on the deck. It feels durable, and is a good value.

Im suprised how much i like theses units. I keep each one in a different part of the house so I dont have to go to far. They are really easy to use and durable enough for light use. You have to keep the tip dry otherwise they will break. Thats how any soil meter like this works. The meter reads instantly and instead of weighing or guessing on how wet the soil is. The design feels good in the hand and is lightweight. My grandmother was the one who showed me these and she has several in her house. It works best on bigger pots with soft soil. Otherwise your digging through rocks, not good, or destroying roots and youll want to use your judgement on to keep the plant alive. So safety wise, it could be hazardous to the plants health. Theyre cheap, i recommend buying a set for any plant enthusiast in the family. If they break they can always buy a set for themselves! Removing one star because theyre are more expensive options out there with a little more durability. But for the price this is a 5 start item

Overwatering is a problem with houseplants. I purchased a few of these sensors for my friends and they are delighted. The display is very clear and accurate. Seems very durable and fun to use..

This device has saved me from so much plant heartache! I have about 20 plants thriving under my care right now and a large part of that is due to grow lights and this moisture meter. At first I thought it was too long but now I have plants in 10-in pots and this is perfect for those occasions. I was notorious for overwatering plants and my first set of plants suffered for years ago. That is no longer an issue for me.

I garden like a maniac (raised beds, containers, lawn patches, houseplants, you name it), and I got tired of guessing whether something needed water or was already drowning. Spent $12 on this XLUX long-probe meter on a whim and it’s now the most-used tool I own. What I love: Instant, no-nonsense reading. Stick it in the soil, look at the 1–10 scale, done. No batteries, no buttons, no Bluetooth nonsense. The 7-inch probe reaches deep into pots and beds so you’re measuring where the roots actually live, not just the surface. Surprisingly sturdy. I’ve used it literally every day for months, in and outdoors, in rocky soil and wet clay, and it still looks brand new. The color zones (red-dry, green-moist, blue-wet) are big and idiot-proof (perfect for me at 6 a.m. with no coffee yet). For twelve bucks I was expecting a toy that would die in a week. Instead I got something that saves me from overwatering (and underwatering) every single day. I liked it so much I bought a second one to keep in the house for my indoor jungle. If you want fancy graphs and an app, go spend $80 elsewhere. If you just want to know “water or don’t water” instantly and forever, this is the winner. 100% recommended.

4/15/2026 - I LOVE this hydrometer! It is simple to use, enough so my 7 y/o great grandson can use it. If you can read "dry", "moist" or "wet", you can use this hydrometer. It has only one probe, so there is less chance disturbing the root ball making it more susceptible to root rot. It is well worth the price. It was packaged well and arrived quickly, thank to the seller. When I decide to upgrade my great grandson from his clay work moisture indicator, this will be the one I buy.

Questo strumento è perfetto per monitorare l'umidità del terreno in modo preciso e facile, anche a profondità maggiori.
