Great little dehydrator!
I bought this dehydrator as a test run to see if I would actually use it before I invest in a larger dehydrator. So far, I really like this little machine! To date, I have dehydrated raspberries, bananas, and sweet peppers. I did have to rotate the trays, but that isn't a huge issue for me. Does not take up a lot of counter space. No temperature control. Does have on/off switch and it is QUIET!! Love that. To keep my raspberries from falling through the trays, I cut parchment paper to fit, cut out the center and hole-punched it. Works great and much easier clean up! I have only used this 3 times but it has performed well.

... heat controller that stopped working which rendered the unit useless. The Deni is simplicity itself
My former dehydrator had a digital heat controller that stopped working which rendered the unit useless. The Deni is simplicity itself, It has an on off switch a heater and the quietest fan, so quiet in fact that the only way you know its working is by feeling the air coming out. Using it in the house I measured the temperature by using a digital probe it read 150 degrees. It has no way of controlling the internal temperature so if you must have a specific temperature you will have to get a dehydrator with a thermostat. For me it does a fine job and is very easy to clean as I just throw the trays into the top tray of my dishwasher.

Decent little dehydrator
Before I review the actual product, I must let everyone know that according to the BBB the maker of Deni products is no longer in business. Therefore, if you have malfunctions, breakage, etc. you will be out of luck unless the seller is willing to work with you. That said, here is my review: PROS: It's compact size is great for persons with small kitchens and limited work space. It is silent. The fan makes little to no noise. I had to hold it to feel the motor running. I have been drying fruit with it, and it drys them within 12 hours or less depending on the type and size. Light weight and easy to clean. CONS: The space between trays is only 1 inch. Therefore, whatever you dry must be sliced accordingly unless you only want to use one tray at a time with the lid, since the lid is taller and angled. There is no temperature control. So far this hasn't been an issue for me. I've just been continually checking my food every few hours and rotating the product as it drys. The white plastic will stain. I am currently drying tomatoes and there ain't no way those trays (including the exterior parts) are ever gonna be white again. It does worry me that the maker is out of business, but since I got this one discounted I won't be out too much money. So far I've been running it for almost 3 days straight with only brief off times. While the plastic does get warm it hasn't warped yet. So far so good.

This product worked great when it worked

This dehydrator is great, especially for my first time try
This dehydrator is great, especially for my first time try. It is very quiet, very small footprint on the counter, holds a lot of stuff for its size, does not heat up the room, and does a very good job drying peaches. I love being able to see the stuff through the clear lid, I can smell it too. This unit is easy to clean, easy to use, and was a perfect first time and small amount machine. I had BIG local peaches; each tray held one very large peach, sliced. I borrowed another dehydrator from a friend and ran both side by side. The other one was round, fewer trays but bigger trays, however the two machines held about the same total cubic inches of food and total number of peaches. The borrowed round dehydrator one was VERY noisy and heated up the room. I much preferred the Deni 7200 dehydrator. Thanks!

There are much better dehydrators and a much lower price.
The NutriChef dehydrator doesn’t offer much for the price tag. The purpose for the purchase was to make different cocktail garnishes for my bar. The dehydrator simply turns on and off with no temperature control among the multiple tiers. While it is easy to clean, it is also very flimsy and easy to break. I wouldn’t recommend this to friends or family.

Good alternative to Canning and Freezing
I've been enjoying commercially prepared dried food on camping trips, and decided it was time to dry some foods myself. This dehydrator is perfect for drying small batches. When buying fruits and vegetables, I buy a little more than we will use fresh, and dry the oversupply. Now I have a growing supply of convenience food to throw into a quick, easy meal. To date I've dried cabbage, peppers, potatoes, apples, peaches, bananas, and mangoes. I've dried mixed batches and haven't experienced carryover of flavors between foods dried at the same time in separate trays. However, I haven't tried pungent foods like onion or garlic. When I do, I'll dry them separately. I've found drying time runs a little longer for me than suggested in the instructions--about 8 hours. Maybe that's because of the humid climate here, or maybe I cut my slices thicker. All the foods have reconstituted well. Fruit Fresh (Vitamin C in powder with sugar) will keep bananas and potatoes from turning dark, but they tasted fine even when I didn't use it. I'm looking forward to keeping this machine busy when my vegetable garden is in full swing next summer.

Died after 2 uses
I was very pleased with how quickly I received my purchase and when I did use this dehydrator, it worked VERY well! Down side - I was only able to use it 2X before it stopped working :( I had my man look at it, hoping it would be a simple fix, but he says the fan motor stopped working. Too bad. Because of its short life, I would not recommend this product. Or maybe I got a defective one.
