Im skeptical about this Knife false claims concern me- can this be used to batton wood?

Ya but why? Use a side strike chisl or a tomahawk. This is a decent knife, but knives aren't designed to be struck. Yes I know it's a bushcraft thing but as someone who uses tools daily, batoning knives isn't smart.

Is this a true full tang or a rat tail tang?

Based on its weight. I doubt it's full tang. But I'm real impressed with its quality for the price. But full tang don't define the knife. Metal and workmanship does.
