Not too tight or too lose- (My baby is 3 months and I bought the 6 month size because she has a big head) The fleece is nice and warm without being compressive. Love it! And it’s so cute!

Product runs small. Make sure to measure your child's head and read the sizing carefully. My son is 7mo but his head is 17in. The size 12M fit him perfectly based upon other reviews. The hat itself is made very well, color is exactly as described. Fabric is very soft. It washes easily and goes in the dryer on low with no pilling or shrinking. Very good for the money. I know he will enjoy this for at least a few months. The ears are adorable and he leaves it on without trying to pull it off like some of the other hats with chin straps.

I really like the Zutano fleece baby items because they look good, they are very well made, soft and breathable (80% cotton) and wash up well. Also I like getting matching pieces. I chose this hat because I wanted a green hat and cardigan for my grandson to wear for the holidays and after. It is not really a Christmas-y green (which I would have preferred), but the color is OK. It would be nice if customers could choose and match items from single sellers, and if the prices were more reasonable and with Prime shipping; often you really have to hunt around if you want very specific items. I got a good price and free shipping on the green cardigan, but had to go to this, more expensive vender to find the matching hat. The item came in just about four days, and with excessive packaging. I took a chance on the size; my grandson is a small six-month old, but I want the hat to last for awhile. And, in fact, it fits him just perfectly! It comes just down over his ears, and the extra fold could go down if needed. He doesn't mind wearing it at all and he looks absolutely adorable in it!By the way, the previous Zutano fuzzy "set" I got for him was also delightful--an orange fuzzy cardigan and little orange booties. We call them his duck feet, and his parents really liked them, too. The duck feet are too small for him now, but are being saved for the next baby, and happily they will look equally fetching on a boy or a girl baby.I do recommend this product, but if you don't need this exact color and size, you might check another vendor for a better price.

This hat is well made and warm. Runs a little small, or could be my baby's huge noggin. He's 3 months, I bought the 6 months size and it fits him about right with just a little room for growth. The product is beautiful, though.

Update: Received the 12 mo hat. It does leave a little room to grow, but fits just fine now. My daughter got measured again a few days ago and her head is 39cm, which is right around 50% for her age (2 mo), so the hat runs very small. Unfortunately, this hat is also darger than the other pagoda items (mittens and booties) - the original matched very well. I doubt anyone will notice, since they won't be right next to each other, but I was a little disappointed.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Bought this for my 7 week old for a trip we're taking in 4 weeks. She always measures 45-50% for head circumference and I ordered the 6 month size. It fits perfectly right now, but with no room to grow, so it runs VERY small. There's plenty of room height wise, just not width wise. Returning for the 12 month size, since I want this to last through the cold season. I'll update my review once the bigger size arrives. Overall it feels soft (though not as much on the inside) and the style is very cute. The pagoda color is beautiful. I bought the matching booties (which also run small, though not as small) and mittens (which were a good size) and the colors all match perfectly (the pictures online don't).

The hat looks good I got the green loving the color and look. It's not fleece inside more like the feel of the rim around the head I think it's cotton. My son is only 3 weeks old barely a month and still a newborn I ordered 12 months based on reviews and glad I did. It fits perfect has a little room but don't think this will fit when he is 3 months old. I wanted something that would cover his ears or at least most of his ears for this cold New York weather.The one I was sent has the tag z on front instead of side. Wish it was on side like in the picture.****Update April 23 2017****My son is now 5 months old boy how time fly's by. I am happy to say this hat still fits him. I am still happy I went with the size I ordered.

This hat didn't fit my son until he was 3 months (75% for head size) He looks like a real stud in it and gets nothing but compliments. I love the color it goes well with many of his outfits. He is now 5 months (still 75%) and the hat is getting tight and short. Other have mentioned folding the rim down to make it fit longer... I think this makes the hat look weird and disproportioned. I do wish the ears were more forward; the ears are centered on the hat, so when wearing it they are back by the crown of his head. it would look cuter to have them more towards his temples to so could see them when looking directly at him. Though you can still see them I think this would improve the look. Overall great product!

Cozy but not too heavy. We had to size up from the baby’s age, but that’s typical for us. The hat doesn’t run small. Baby runs big. Overall a good deal.
