Nice reed but the 2 and 1/2 is a little light for me.
Used these for years but need to go back to a 3. I used these for outdoor summer concerts and they worked fine.

Consistent, Playable Reeds
So, I am not a clarinet player. I'm an oboe player who happens to experiment with other instruments on the side. Now, I have attempted clarinet in the past, and was met with bad reed after bad reed. These reeds, however, are not bad, despite the "Rico" name that I had come to avoid like the plague. In fact, they're wonderful for someone starting out on the clarinet, or for anyone, I would imagine. Clarinet reeds are not known for their consistency, however I have found all of the reeds in my first box to be playable. Of course some are better than others, but surprisingly, I received no duds in my first box! Of course I'm just a beginning clarinet player, and I'm sure someone more experienced than myself would be more critical than I, but I would say that these are the best reeds you could possibly get for a new player!
