Using this since 2012
I work with children, some on the Autism Spectrum. I have used these cards since 2012. They are great for children who are learning to expand their description of how they feel. There are 20 durable cardboard flash cards, printed with bright and colorful illustrations on each side. The skin tones are various colors- purple, blue, orange, red, yellow which I like so that children do not avoid selecting cards that do not look like them. This is good for children who cannot read as well as those who can. Children can select the words or the images that describe how they feel. I have also used them to ask children how they think someone else might feel in situations to gauge empathy and understanding of other perspectives. While some of cards are similar (angry and frustrated) it allows for those who are more advanced to describe their feelings more accurately. You can also use the cards by asking children to describe the situation based on the images. For example, on the card depicted as "left out" there is dog in a building looking at all the other dogs playing in the yard. I typically ask children to select three cards that describes how they are feeling. I also ask them to select cards that might describe how others feel (sibling, parents, teacher, classmates). It's a great icebreaker especially when younger kids have a harder time explaining how they feel. Another activity is to describe a situation and then ask the child to select the emotion that best fits the scenario. These cards help introduce an emotional vocabulary to children who struggle and are a great set to have.

Sturdy well-made flash cards
I REALLY LOVE these flash cards. The cards have pictures & words on each side. For example, one side will say "serious" and has a picture representing "serious". On the back of the card it will say "silly" with a picture representing "silly". So not only are these feeling cards but they also teach opposites. It's terrific for a child who has trouble labeling her feelings AND in my case, a child who is a visual learner. When we teach my daughter via auditory speech she just doesn't understand. Her hearing tested above average but she still had to do speech therapy for 2 years because she had trouble repeating what she heard. Ever since I started using these cards I've received GREAT feedback from my daughter's preschool teachers telling me how much her behavior has improved at school. For a while she was acting out because she couldn't express her feelings. It takes her a LONG time to express a complete sentence, and by then she would be too frustrated to even try. But the color graphics of these cards + the Thoughts and Feelings: A Sentence Completion Card Game made something click in her 4 year old brain. Now she is able to express her feelings & she knows the opposite of that feeling. These cards are worth their weight in gold. She mesmerized every card in just 2 days. However she still loves going over these cards by herself every night. It's fun just to listen to her talk to herself as she analyzes each picture on the card.

Great Cards for Games involving expression of Emotions
When I opened my delivery for Todd Parr Feelings Flashcards, I was surprised at the 1.5 mm thick cards - very robust quality that are very suitable for games, not only for children but for adults too. The thick cards made them very durable and they are housed in a thick box. I am very pleased with the affordable price. It is great for playing training games where adults learn to express their emotions with the cards picked. There are ten colorful cards. At the back of the card is the reverse emotion of the feeling found on the front. That makes a total of 20 emotional feelings. Great product. I strongly recommend it to trainers, teachers and counsellors. I have bought four other types of cards and I found this the best value for money! Michael Lum

These cards are fantastic! Our 5 year old son has some struggles ...
These cards are fantastic! Our 5 year old son has some struggles identifying emotions, and these cards have been a fantastic resource for him. The colors are bright and vivid and the illustrations are adorable. He loves taking these out and "playing" with them and talking about each emotion. We even bought an additional set for him to use at school with his special ed teacher. When he's struggling to identify his feelings these are the first thing we go to, and they are working. Very thankful for these cards!!!

Very fun and helpful
We just received these cards a week or so ago but they are already a bit hit! Todd Parr has a fun sense of illustration to his books and its the same here. The cards are much sturdier than expected, which is great with toddlers. Some of the emotions are a little repetitive but it helps expand language skills I think. My daughter thinks some of the cards are hilarious, like the one for annoyed, she walks around with laughing and repeating what is happening...very pleased with these...

Great early emotions learning tool
Feelings Flash Cards are helping my preschooler identify emotions and strengthen self-awareness. It always helps to talk about the cards and describe feelings as we experience them throughout the day. I prefer to end our play with them on positive or empowering emotions so our experiences with all of our emotions are balanced. The cards are durable but should be kept away from liquids. They are eye catching colors and the emotions illustrated are easy to identify.

Very happy with these flashcards. My daughter has struggled to express her emotions and these visual aids have really helped and only had them a few days. One or two of these are beyond her understanding at present but very happy with this set.

These are great for use in therapy sessions. What I love about them is they show a wide range of feelings but the pictures are bright, inviting and funny which makes hard conversations easier. Practically they are a great size and are nice and thick compared to other brands so I'm confident they'll last well.
