Lixit Igloos and Hideaways for Guinea Pigs, Rats, Mice, Hamsters, Gerbils and Other Small Animals (Assorted, Large Space Pod)

My rats have officially moved in and declared this Lixit Igloo their forever home. Honestly, I’m just the landlord now. From the moment I set it in the cage, it was love at first sight. It’s cozy, private, and apparently the perfect spot for a mid-morning nap, a post-lunch nap, a pre-dinner nap... you get the idea. My rats spend so much time in there, I’m thinking of charging rent. It’s lightweight, easy to clean, and durable enough to survive dramatic rat rearranging sessions. Plus, it looks adorable in their setup — like a tiny VIP lounge for the world's cutest little loaf. If your small pet needs a cozy hideout where they can live their best napping life, this is THE spot. 10/10 from me and 100/10 from my rats.

This toy is very good for any rat! It's made of some nice plastic which means if they pee in it it can be washed, if your rats have mites or lice this can be disinfected, and it'll last longer! I have 2 giant girls snuggling in mine and their sister in quarantine can otherwise fit in here as well with them. It is especially nice if you stuff it with fleece for extra warmth and comfort in the winter, but my girls usually take out the fleece in the summer because it'll be hot so the plastic by itself doesn't bother them. It's my girls' favorite because rats love to sleep high in the air, and this securely allows them to do that! The only problem I could see with this (but it hasn't happened to me) is the hooks at the top breaking off that hang it. But you could just replace it with shower hooks so this doesn't affect my review. Overall, this is a great, durable and cheap product! The price is amazing for it and I can see it lasting my girls a long time even though they are chewers. I would highly recommend this for your fur babies!

all of my rats (four) fit in here. Good hide. they chew on it but it is fine . if they chew through it get a new one it’s cheap and good worth it. my rats are named hashbrown ball tea and milk

This is a perfect, sturdy, versatile hidey hole for rats. It can hang from the top or sit on the bottom. It's smooth plastic material is ready to clean and comes apart into separate pieces. They're even disinterested in chewing on it. Our Mama rat insisted on raising her babies inside it even. Nice and cozy and secure. It's easily their favorite place to snuggle. It comfortably accommodates three adult females, but I have also seen all 11 rats squished into it at one point while the babies were growing.

Not strong enough when sitting on the ground is a dome for two racks to sit in without the bottom falling out but it’s fine for one rat. I’m glad that it’s not something that they can tear apart and it’s easy to clean and my fattest route seems to really enjoy it right now, but all my rats are kind of fat so again not a multiple rap thing but as a single rat little thing very cool. I have not tried hanging it from the top because they have enough hanging from the top and they needed something on the bottom.

I bought this space pod about 2 years ago and my rats still love it. My rats are now 3 years old and are starting to show old age so I moved them into a horizontal cage with no levels. They were quite distressed by the move, chittering and trying to get it. I couldn't figure out how to comfort them. On a whim I transferred this space pod out of their old cage into their new and they immediately climbed in and napped. I'm watching them groom themselves right this minute in it. It's super easy to clean (either wipe down with cloth or take it out of cage and rinse) and it is very easy to set up (either hanging upside down from top of cage or let it stand on own legs). The only thing I would mention is that it definitely would not fit 3 large adult rats, my ratsies are on the larger side (each over 500 grams) and when they squeeze in together there are paws and tails sticking out! They nonetheless make it work.

I have 4 of these total now and my rats just love them. They are easy to clean and put together. Also they are super effortless to hang within the cage or you an just have them standing on bottom of the cage ( I recommend hanging them though my rats like to use the ones that I hang more than the one I have standing up ). I will say the down fall to this item is the actual hooks to hook them onto the cage within. If you have a heavier small animal its probably not going to hold or if you have an animal that is a chewer they might go for that part first. The first one I bought had that situation so then I just had to have them on the floor of one of the cages I had. However, it varies from situation to situation, I now have 4 female rats who love to sleep together in one pod even though they now have all 4 within their cage.

My three boys just can’t get enough of this space pod! One of my boys will literally never sleep anywhere else, he’s obsessed with it! The large space pod is what I got, and it is big enough for my three boys to sit in but they do seem a little uncomfortable and don’t all go in there very often. One or two of my boys fit very comfortably though! They love to snuggle in there. It is super easy to assemble, took me only a second to get it put together and attached to the cage. It is very easy to clean in the same respect. It seems very sturdy to me, the only problem is the clips that hold it onto the cage do have some wearing on them after awhile of my boys using it. But the awesome thing about this product is if those clips break i can still use the space pod by simply moving it to sitting on the ground of their cage instead of hanging! All in all, my boys love this item more than I ever Anticipated!

Supertoll. Eine meiner 3 Rattenmädels saß im Käfig immer allein an der gleichen Stelle. Seit ich das Teil habe (gestern nachmittag eingebaut) macht sie sich's auch dort hin und wieder gemütlich, sogar gemeinsam mit den anderen beiden. Bin total begeistert und scheint, dass meine Rattis das auch sind . .was ja schliesslich die Hauptsache ist. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

I bought this item because it was highly recommended on various rat-care sites, and I was not disappointed! The solid plastic is strong and chew-proof. It attaches easily to the top of the cage to provide a cozy hanging hide-away, and is super easy to remove for cleaning. Alternatively, it can stand on the ground though I haven't used it that way yet. The plastic is washable and cleans up well. The large pod easily holds 3 young rats (3-6 months old) and will probably comfortably sleep 2 adults. It took about a day for my rats to really warm up to it but since then it has been the choice sleeping spot in the cage.

I bought this for a Christmas present for my 3 rats, I heard about these so-called *space pods* and how rats seemed to really like them, my rats love hammocks but they always somehow chew them to shreds and make them very smelly so they can't be reused, and that can get costly. So I thought that the space pod would be a good investment for the rats to have a warm hut for winter time (2 of them are hairless) As soon as I hung the pod in the cage, the rats fell in love. They are CONSTANTLY in the pod nonstop, all huddled together, speaking of that they all do fit in there, they are 3 decent sized girls so I am happy that they all can fit in there! Half the time I can't even get them to get out of the pod they love it so much, I put a little blanket in there for them for extra cushioning, since they are hairless. if your rats are a fan of hammocks I think they will like the space pod, it may be a bit expensive but it is reusable, just wash it out! This was a fantastic present for my rats, Great buy!
