Review from IBCLC
I am an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant and these are one of the best products on the market for damaged nipples (MUCH better than the silver caps). *Breastfeeding should NEVER hurt or cause damage. If this is happening then there is an issue that needs to be evaluated by an IBCLC (Most Drs are not trained or qualified to work with you on feeding issues unless they are also an IBCLC).* The Gels: They are durable, can be refrigerated while feeding so that they are nice and cold when you put them back on. Just rinse and reuse for several days so they are cost effective. They are slightly sticky (gel), but you will need a bra to keep the on, they do not stick to you, so they are safe for damaged skin. I give these as gifts and refer patients, who come to me for damage, to them. Very important!!!! Do NOT use any nipple butters, creams, or oils with this product (it can potentially cause further damage to the skin), with these you don’t need it. They help heal, keep your skin moisturized, and protect your skin from your clothing rubbing on them. This information is my personal opinion and educational, not medical advice.

Get these!
These worked so well for me. I found them so soothing. The adhesive wasn’t super great but I just wore them while wearing a bra and had no issues. These are a must if you’re having any soreness at all!

great for sore nipples for first time breastfeeding moms
I had a HORRIBLE time with sore/cracked nipples in the first month of breastfeeding. I tried EVERYTHING I read about to make the pain go away, and these helped me a lot. In my desperation, I had bought a few brands of hydrogel pads including Medela, Lansinoh, and Ameda. Among the 3 brands I tried, I liked the Amedas the best. True, you to have to wash your nipples before breastfeeding, but I found that to be the case with all 3 brands. The Medela ones were too sticky, and because they were flat, they did not hug the curvature of the nipples and did not lay right on the nipples...this led to leakage! I did not like the Lansinohs, because I did not feel that they were very soothing, and also they only last for 72 hours. I felt that the Amedas helped soothe my nipples a lot and they were able to be reused for up to 6 days. Since these hydrogel pads can be pretty expensive, longevity is important! The package instructions does not recommend using ointments/creams with the pads, but I used lanolin with these anyway. I had no problems that occurred because of that, and I feel that it provided an even better moist environment for my nipples to heal. Breastfeeding can be HARD, but these provided much-needed relief for me during the most difficult times! Hopefully these will help others as well.

Must buy
I used these with my first baby and had to get them for my second. They are the best ones on the market. They are reusable and very durable. If they lose stickiness you just wash them and they go back to normal.

Pricey but worth it
Works way better than gel ice packs for soothing sore nipples because these apply directly to your nipple. Has helped so much in just one day. Not sure I understand the negative reviews or complaints about how the patches flip/move? I place these on my nipples and pull my nursing bra over it and it stays in place just fine. The cooling effect and the hydrogel material is really soothing to my nipples. I wear them for roughly 20-30 minutes at a time. Rinse with water and pop them back into their trays and stick them in the freezer between uses. Love that it is multi-use up to 6 days while other patches are mostly one time use. So yes it’s pricey but if I use it 3-4 times a day for 6 days, it’s really not that bad. Plus buying it in bulk/higher count is cheaper. I already bought the 4 count (2 pairs) for future use.

Amazing healing!!
Perfect for breastfeeding discomfort! They provide a barrier between your nipples and bra which is much needed for cracked nipples from breastfeeding. They provide healing properties to such sensitive area! Buy them, you won’t regret it!

Cooling and Soothing, but sticky removal
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) I recently tried these soothing gel nipple pads for breastfeeding, and while they provided a cooling and soothing sensation, I found the removal process to be somewhat painful and sticky. Here's my detailed review: 1. Cooling and Soothing Relief: The gel in these nipple pads delivered a much-needed cooling and soothing sensation, which was immensely helpful during breastfeeding. The gentle cooling effect helped alleviate discomfort and provided temporary relief to sore or sensitive nipples. It's a comforting feature that nursing mothers can appreciate. 2. Effective for Nipple Protection: These nipple pads effectively acted as a barrier between clothing and sore nipples, offering a protective layer during breastfeeding. They helped prevent further irritation and friction, promoting faster healing and providing some relief from discomfort. 3. Sticky Removal and Nipple Sensitivity: Unfortunately, the sticky nature of these nipple pads caused some discomfort during removal. The gel adhesive adhered tightly to the nipple, making it painful to peel off, especially when dealing with sore or sensitive nipples. This aspect could be improved to ensure a more comfortable experience for breastfeeding mothers. 4. Reusability and Convenience: The reusable nature of these nipple pads is a positive aspect. They can be washed and reused multiple times, offering a cost-effective solution for ongoing nipple protection. The convenience of being able to use them repeatedly adds value to the product. 5. Moderate Overall Satisfaction: While the cooling and soothing properties of these nipple pads were beneficial, the sticky removal experience lowered my overall satisfaction. It is worth noting that individual experiences may vary, and some users might not find the removal as uncomfortable. However, for those with already sore or sensitive nipples, the stickiness could be a concern. In summary, these soothing gel nipple pads provide a cooling and soothing sensation that can be beneficial during breastfeeding. They effectively protect sore nipples and are reusable for convenience. However, the sticky removal process can be painful, particularly for those with sensitive or already sore nipples. If you can tolerate the adhesive aspect or find a removal technique that works for you, these nipple pads might still be worth considering. It's important to keep in mind personal comfort levels and nipple sensitivity when deciding on the best option for nipple protection during breastfeeding.

These are superb
I've nursed three kids now and I have to say that these are my favorite gel pads ever. They are soft and cool to the touch and very comfortable against the nipple. Refrigerated, they are heaven on earth for sore nipples. They are cool and comforting, and prevent the nipple from getting hard scabs that then get removed as baby nurses -- ouch. Another plus is that they don't stick to the nipple at all, so removing them is simple and painless. (For the record -- I have tried other brands that DID stick to the nipple and that was not pleasant, so I highly recommend avoiding that!) Finally, they are thin and not bulky which means that they're not super noticeable when you're dressed. In summary -- they are a LIFESAVER! I have made sure to have these on hand at all times and highly recommend them. The only issue I've ever had with them, and really it wasn't a big deal, was that one single pad shrunk once. (I'd say that these are slightly larger than silver dollars and when mine shrunk, it was probably twice the size of a quarter.) I never had that issue with any others. I'm not sure why exactly it happened either. Both pads had been kept the same temperature and washed gently with soap and water daily. Like I said, it wasn't a big deal, just interesting more than anything.
