Close quarter combat
If I ever find myself in a city that is not 2nd amendment friendly this is a great option. Broom/mop/paint roller handles are easy to find and makes this knife into a formidable weapon. Great for defending doors, stairs and hallways.

Good materials, design and workmanship.
Like most kids 67 years old, like to take things apart to see how they are made. I was pleased to see that the handle turned into the metal head threads and the lanyard hole is large enough to accommodate a biner clip and is very strong. The sheath appears very good as well. The stitches are good and the rivets are well finished. The head slips into a plastic liner and won't damage the sheath. The strap is beefy and secures fine. The tip is very sharp but the edges required a little attention. They take a good edge easily. The steel is thick and I believe it will stand up to throwing quite easily even with a poll pushing it. Most belts will slide thru and is tight enough to hold things without slipping. There are no rattling noises whatever. I have a M 48 ordered, however if I had any Idea that this was as nice as it is I think I would pass. I am not an expert but I can't see how anyone wouldn't be pleased with purchasing this item.

Cool, fun, functional
For the price I got two of them. One to mess around with, and one to keep in good condition. I took the first one and attached it to a painting extension pole. This one was solid wood and a bit heavy. Throwing the spear into some scrap plywood. The heavy pole would sway a lot when it stuck in the target, bending the tip a bit. If you're going to throw it I would use a lighter pole made out of aluminum or plastic. Then I thought it would be fun to attach the handle and use it as a throwing knife. Which worked great til I hit the target with the handle and it snapped off. If you goof off like this don't expect it to last long! Otherwise it's well made and a really cool tool.

This is pretty sweet, though it's unclear what kind of rod to put in it.
Wow it's pretty sharp! I wish both sides were sharpened. I'm not sure what size spear to put in it either but it's going to be neat when I find out!

Subpar.
The sheath is only usable for keeping the blade from cutting other things in your pack or drawer or wherever you store it. Speaking of which, only one side is sharpened even though it is very clear due to the convex geometry, the other side could very easily be sharpened. The blade feels light and I don't feel confident using this product on tougher targets and I don't think it is dependable. I reviewed the cold steel version of this implement as well and while I did get it to fit on one of the poles that I bought, a extendable painters Pole, it didn't feel like it would do a good job.

Decent Kit at a Better Than Decent Price
This is a versatile blade. It is a touch heavy in the hand, but it is very comfortable to actually use a knife. And, when you feel like it, you can unscrew the handle and thread a broomstick into the base of the blade to make a spear. This thing is very nifty. I bought a threaded broom handle from Tractor Supply made of some mystery hardwood but with a good, tight grain running correctly down the handle. I believe it was five bucks. And the head I paid about twenty for. So, for $25 you get a pretty cool little spear. It even throws decently. The steel is tough enough to not ding or bend when thrown into a tree and this thing makes an excellent 'extra-long-machete' in the woods for clearing slightly overgrown trails or trimming very small branches. So, it's fun and practical. Even if you just set a hay bale up in your backyard and have fun hucking this thing into it, the spear is well worth the money.

If you need a permanent spear for combat get a coldsteel assgai, but you cant walk around town with that......
threads / fits perfectly onto Genuine Joe GJO60468 Wood Floor Broom Handle, 1-1/8" Diameter x 60" Length, Oak that was $7.41 as an add on item through amazon prime. Can lock on with threadlock or gorilla glue but I like to appear non - threatening in town. perfect for a replacable spearhead on broom handle walking stick. I put rubber chair leg cap for nonskid effect on end of broom handle and screw on a 5 "finger" easy up cane end onto threaded end of broom handle for walking in city. then spear head can replace easy up cane cap if needed for self protection while hiking/walking pastures and coyotes get vicious. Great for protecting kids and wife from wildlife/unchained dogs..

Is it a knife or is it a spear head? I can't decide how I want to store this thing, on the end of a broom handle or with the knife handle (right now it's on a broom handle) lol...but I don't want to loose my knife handle. It's a dilema. Very nice product, good value. When I read the desciption I wasn't sure if just the blade was steel and it was mounted in a plastic mold (as in what is steel and what is plastic) because technically the blade goes into the handle and the handle is listed as plastic. Happy to find the whole spear head is metal and a plastic part of the handle screws into that to make it a regular knife. In the third picture the part at the top is all metal and only the screw in part is plastic. Maybe I'm the only one who wondered that. The sheath it comes with is decent too with a belt loop. So if SHTF you can put this on you belt and all you need to make it a nice spear is to find a broom handle somewhere, can't be too hard right? Then you be like a zulu warrior!

Augenscheinlich gute Verarbeitung. Nur welches Gewinde hat der Griff? Mit der Angabe könnte man nach dem passenden Gegenstück suchen. Ohne Stab, kein Speer...

After sharpening the unsharpened side (which was literally, symbolically & ironically a HALF-ASSED thing in itself) I discovered the blade was slightly crooked when mounted on a pole which then led me to discover that it actually wobbles a tad where it's inserted into the metal part containing the threads. And if that's not enough, I also discovered that the raised line/edge which is supposed to point toward the tip of the blade doesn't quite point to the tip of the blade—like it's obviously supposed to—like the one in Amazon's photographs. It definitely seems the workman/craftsman who fabricated mine was just a bit sloppy overall, which is rather irritating considering I paid a substantial 61 CAD or about 46 USD for it. So overall, I must say it easily could've and should've been better, because its a nice enough dagger/spearhead otherwise, etc. But as it is, it's a slight SHAME. BEWARE!! Update: After further investigating the "wobbly" blade it was actually just bent a tad at/near the tip, which i was able to carefully correct/bend straight. Plus, Amazon was swift to compensate me for the "sloppy" craftsmanship/remaining issues and has also reduced their price a smidgen I see. So I'll be upgrading the rating to 4 stars, as the blade I reviewed (the "sloppy" one) was actually the 2nd S&W dagger/spearhead i had bought/received (because I had given the 1st one to a friend as a gift) and the original was almost perfect. But I still received 1 near perfect blade, and one "sloppy" one, mockingly/frustratingly. And the price is still almost double now than it was a few months ago/originally. But anyways, if anyone's reading this, there you have it, to be fair. "SMITH" and Wesson. Ha!! LOL

Für die Speerspitze gibt es keinen passenden Schaft. Auch Baumärkte haben nichts passendes.
