Don't settle for plastic
Had a plastic vacuum break that cracked and flooded my yard. After that I changed them all to these very sturdy brass breakers. I'd give them 5 stars except the set screw is not made of CRES and corroded pretty bad, almost wouldn't come out and actually ruined the breaker threads somewhat. Another minor issue, the plastic tip in the picture at the center protrudes a good amount and interferes with the "domed" style filter washers ( Gilmour Metal Hose Coupling Filter Washers 02FW ). Not a big deal, really just depends on your application. Good buy, but throw away the set screw.

DOES NOT WORK!!!!
This does not work. It is a different brand than the first I ordered from Amazon that also did not work. I think they are made by the same Chinese company and just put different names on them. I donโt know why it wonโt work unless it is the design of the brass part on the upstream side. These have an opening about the size of a pencil and as such allow much more water to flow through than the kind I had which only had 4 small openings around that part which allowed enough water to pass through and open the check valve. I think by having this opening it allows too much pressure from the faucet itself to allow the spring to push the check valve closed. The spring keeps the valve closed and the water pressure opens it.
