Westclox33883P Realistic Wood Grain Wall Clock, 10", Black

The clock works fine, but "realistic wood grain" it is not. To see any "graining" you have to be about a foot away in very good light. On the wall it just looks like a very, very dark solid brown or black clock frame. Not what I wanted, but oh well!

We fought to keep this clock working for the last 2 years. I wish I had bought something better in the first place. No matter how many times you changed the battery it would get stuck and the battery compartment didn't fit a AA battery well at all. After setting it 3 times yesterday with a brand new battery in it it got stuck again for the last time when I hung it back on the wall. I promptly removed said clock from the wall and smashed it to bits with a meat mallet. I know I could have simply just thrown it away just as I did with the money I paid for it but man I gotta tell you it was satisfying to smash it!!!!

Have had this clock for about a month now I think. Looks great and its keeping time fantastically!-update. This clock hasn't even lasted 11 months. I'm not putting any more batteries in this thing. We noticed they seemed to be wearing out fast. This last brand new battery only lasted five days before the clock stopped. Really?! Not good.

I have this clock in my bathroom to go with other oiled bronze items and I really like it. It's not made for bathrooms so if you are in the habit of steaming up your bathroom from hot showers it might not work for you but anywhere else I'd recommend it. Quiet, keeps correct time. The listing says that it's "wood". It's not. It's a metal of some sort. It made no difference to me but be aware...wood case clocks rarely go for this price and for what it is I think it's a bargain.

My grandpa's wall clock died so his friend "picked one up" at the swap meet. Of course it stopped working after a week, so the friend got another one. Soon enough, it wasn't keeping accurate time. So I finally told my grandpa I was going to purchase a new clock because these second-hand swap meet clocks are not working out.We put batteries in and set the time and it has been running for a few months now with no issues. It keeps time really well, really accurate, and the wood surround is very nice.

This is supposed to take one AA battery, but no AA batteries would fit, since the compartment is too small. I tried two different batteries, and the metal in the end of the compartment ripped the ends of both batteries, so badly that I had to throw the batteries away.Also, the wood frame around the clock is poorly made. You can see seams where the sections fit together, and the inside of the frame was uneven where the glass meets the wood.

IT RUNS BACKWARDS!! Honestly, I put the AA battery in the second hand started moving counterclockwise. I took the battery out and put it back in and it still runs backwards. It's actually keeping backward time. When I took the battery out, it completely bent the metal springy part that holds the battery in! It did NOT come with a return label, and I will have to pay more than it's worth to send it back!

This won't work for a bedroom if the ticking of a clock keeps you awake. Fine for noisier parts of the house.
