Watercolors Intense Metallic Color Depositing Shampoo, Semi Permanent Hair Color 8.5 oz - GOLD

The BEST purple shampoo I’ve ever tried. CAUTION only leave on a few seconds very intense and will tone it down to white removes any yellow or gold from hair I mix it in with regular shampoo it’s that intense.

This is the best purple shampoo that I've ever used, and, trust me, I've used many. It definitely brightens my hair and gets rid of all the brassiness, that's so unappealing. I find it works best when used in conjunction with another shampoo and then to let it sit for roughly 5 minutes before rinsing. I use like 3/4 of this and 1/4 of the other one that I choose to mix with it. I've found that when I use it by itself, it causes my hair to turn lavender in random spots. I've had other purple shampoos dry my hair out a lot, but I have dry, thick, coarse, frizzy hair, that's highlighted. This shampoo doesn't seem to do that. I can't recommend it enough!! I feel that it's the best option, out of all the purple shampoos, for light blond and silver hair. I've been using it for 8 years, and I don't plan on switching!!

The shampoo is great, mutes my gray more or less depending how long I leave it on, exactly what I wanted. There is no unpleasant scent and easy to use.

Shampoo is very strong in the sense that it turned my newly blonde hair purple. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 starts. Oh, and the product came open (luckily it was in a sealed bag), but that annoyed me too. Seems to be a reoccurring thing if you look at the picture reviews. Besides the silly things, I don’t have a problem with the shampoo. Looks, feels, smells and works good.

Definitely deposits color. I liked the scent, which doesn't linger, and it didn't feel too drying, though I've certainly tried more nourishing shampoos. I'm giving it only 3 stars because it made my scalp hurt. I don't have a history of sensitivity to hair or beauty products, but this shampoo left my scalp feeling raw and burning. I tried it twice, a week apart to let my scalp recover in between. The raw feeling occurred both times. If you know you won't have the same feeling, this might be for you! (I color my hair myself at home, but I don't use a lot of other products. Maybe if you're used to a wide variety of things, you won't run into the same problem.)

UPDATE: although I still love the product, my experiment using the same product for lowlights was a disaster. I ended up with very bright orange red streaks that were not attractive at all. I'm still going to use it for my hair, but only very dilute as I did the first time. I have virgin hair that's 95% white and steely gray, with a few little natural ginger-auburn tufts that have not disappeared yet around the edges here and there. These gorgeous light warm blonde and spice results are after using intense metallic bronze ONCE for about 10 minutes. Talk about cost effective! I diluted just drops of the bronze shampoo and enough water to wet my hair for a nice lather. Not a teaspoon, not a capful, really just a dozen or so drops and I got exactly the results I hoped I would. Step two will be tomorrow or the next day to do some lowlighted strands and streaks using more concentrated product here and there. I expected to like this product, but this is simply extraordinary. I could not have gotten nicer results at a salon and I love the transition from lightest warm blonde on top to a spicy medium blonde instead of steel gray in the back. The bomb!

I read the reviews and that the color really started to show after several washes. I’m disappointed that I haven’t noticed anything different as hair color with mine. I’ve almost used 2/3 of the bottle. It is also VERY watery like and seems diluted. It makes it hard to get it from your hand to your hair. I am very disappointed that I spent as much money on this and it didn’t work as expected.
