Bormioli Rocco Loto Wine Decanter 1.5L, 42oz

This decanter is a great value for under $15 if it arrives in one piece. The thin carboard box it came in contained no padding, so the glass was able to bounce around freely. Thankfully the glass is thick enough, so that it isn't too fragile and the Amazon packaging can compensate. The quality of the bottle is fairly good and I wouldn't be ashamed to leave it sitting at the table with dinner guests. The visible seems in the glass clearly indicate a mass produced item. The glass stopper is hollow with a plastic covered base that provides for a snug, air tight fit. I paired this decanter with the WMF Vino Stainless-Steel 4-Way Funnel and they work perfectly together. The neck of the decanter is wide enough to receive the base of the funnel and the wine has plenty of room to gently cascade down the sides of the bottle. A 750 ml bottle of wine easily fits in and there is still enough surface area to allow the wine to breathe. You will not get an entire magnum 1.5l bottle in this decanter. I like the shape of this decanter more than the popular style with the wide base. You don't have to tip it almost upside down to get the last glass of wine out. I would recommend wrapping a towel or napkin around the neck to catch that single drop of wine that always tends to remain on the lip. Cheers!

I got tired of having large wine bottles (used for cooking) on my counter and wanted something nicer. This quality decanter fits the bill perfectly. It's heavy, plain and looks good. I bought one, for red wine; buying another for white. Stopper fits tightly. Slight problem, stopper was loose and banging around the box but no damage was done. It should have been taped down for shipping. If you want a nice-looking inexpensive decanter, this one is highly recommended. Update: The second one arrived also with the stopper banging around the box, loose. There is no packing material; the bottle is just thrown in the box. This Italian company really needs to improve their packaging. Fortunately, unlike some other that have had problems,, there was no damage. I am leaving seller feedback.

My husband and I are fans of Bormioli products as we purchased our recent wedding Bormioli Champagne Flutes (from Amazon) and were extremely pleased with them. With the purchase of this item we also ordered the Bormioli Rocco Premium Carafe 50 6/8 oz which arrived in the same Amazon package. We bought the Carafe for water and this decanter for cold brewed tea. Although the decanter is very nice and we are glad we purchased it; it just does not seem to live up to the outstanding quality of other Bormioli products. It was also concerning because with most products the Bormioli name is etched into the glass (such as with the Premium Carafe we also ordered) that is not the case with this particular decanter causing us to question the authenticity of the product. Perhaps, because the price is considerably less, lesser quality should be expected but we were slightly disappointed. However, overall, we do like the decanter, it looks good and is worth the price...but don't expect the heavy, outstanding quality that is normally found with Bormioli products.

Brought this for my cousin cause I broke hers came thru for me

Why would they ship a glass product that is not packaged for it. The container is beautiful, as pictured but the top was broken in both. I kept one because I liked it so much and hope to find a cute top but if that would not work for you DO NOT BUT IT!!!!

This decanter is 1.4L, not 1.5L if filled to the brim at the top. Does NOT hold two 750ml bottles of wine. So, it is great if you pour yourself a glass for doing a good job filling the decanter. This means listing the size as 42 oz is perfect if you want room in the decanter. As a Metrologist, I should have noticed the discrepancy. Fourty-Two ounces is only 1250 ml or 1.25L. I am mostly disappointed because I bought it to hold two bottles of wine, which required a 1.5 L decanter. OTOH, It is a very nice decanter, and it's a shame that they couldn't give me a better measurement of the actual volume because I was looking for 1.5L, and I wouldn't have bought it when it didn't suit my needs.
