Rockport has always been one step ahead of the times, believing the perfect shoe has not yet been invented. This positive dissatisfaction compels them to constantly improve upon their footwear. Founded in 1971, they were the first company to use advanced athletic technologies in casual shoes to achieve lightweight comfort, and the first company to engineer walking comfort in dress and casual shoes. Step up your khakis and cords with this handsome leather penny loafer from Rockport. The classic-looking upper features moc-toe stitching with a foldover collar, reinforcement at the back and traditional cutout detail at the vamp. The cushioned insole protects against impact, while the rugged rubber sole provides traction and durability. See all Product description

Heels/soles did not last
I've never had heels on shoes dissolve any faster than these did. The leather still looks great and the threading is sound, but the bottoms have dissolved to the point that I can't wear them comfortably anymore. These shoes got daily wear inside a carpeted building, with minor walking. They will go into the trash. Also noted that I may be a neanderthal, but I've never had any of my other shoes' heels wear out to the outside like these. I expected more than 6 months wear.

Inconsistent shoe sizing
Leather is good quality, soles are thicker compared a normal penny loafer from Bass. The thing that was frustrating for me is the sizing. Iโm between a size 8 and 8.5 and it depends on the shoe make. So I ordered a 8.5W because I had my feet measured at a shoe store. The shoe came in as promised by amazon prime. I tried them on, liked them but too large. I returned them for a 8W and they still feel too loose. My heels would lift off the shoe. So I ordered a 8M, now the heel feels snug but the toes area is too tight. Iโm planning to return and try an 8.5M. If that doesnโt feel right then I give up and move on to a different brand.

Nice shoes but seem to run narrow
These are very nice shoes but I have to return them. While the length is spot on it appears (from the pair I got, at least -- other reviewers seem to have differing opinions) that they run narrow. They were way too tight at the widest part of the foot (I ordered D(M) which are what I routinely wear in most shoes). Sadly I got them on sale and now I can't get the wider size at same price so I guess I will be looking elsewhere. Dangers of buying clothing online, I guess.

Buying shoes online today can end up being a nightmare ...
Buying shoes online today can end up being a nightmare. I bought 4 pairs, this one in 10.5 according to the suggestion of the same amazon webpage and 3 size 11.I bought this in 10.5 to replace my old rockports 10.5 size. This one new, made in Vietnam, should be rather 9.5, a lot smaller than the old one 10.5 but made in India.About the others 11 size, two of them fits as expected, the other is somewhat small.

Rockport Shakespeare Loafers fit as expected.
These Rockport Shakespeare loafers are not as wide as you would expect from a EEE (triple E) width, but I'm used to this reality. The leather gives immediately upon wearing but causes creases and waves in the leather upper across the top of the shoe. In addition, the rubber soles don't tend to last long. Would be nice if the soles lasted longer than the leather. My experience has been that the soles last about 6 - 9 months. Prices seem to have gone up but quality remains the same. I continue to purchase these shoes, because so few manufacturers offer EEE widths.

Wonderful shoes, but sizing....
These are great shoes at a fantastic price. However, I was very surprised that the sizing was off. I take a 10 D (m) shoe. I typically wear 9.5 loafers. My last pair, Sperry Top-Sider Men's Liberty Loafer, fit beautiful, and were 9.5. These were too big. They seem great, comfortable, but slightly too big (my heal slips out of the show when walking.) Amazon has a great return policy on these, so I am returning them. I went to a local store and tried on a size 9. They fit, but they are snug around the top of my feet. I tried a 9 wide, and it did not work.If I get these, it will take time to break them in, so I am undecided on what I will do. I will probably look for a different brand. I am giving these 5 stars, because they should work great for some people, and you can by with confidence from Amazon, with their return policy

Good shoes!
I have to wear black shoes, all day, every day. When a cheaper shoe (another brand) was available, I bought them instead of the Rockports - they didn't last a year. The Rockports are comfortable, and while the rubber bottom sole (good for snow and ice btw) is very thick on the Rockport, it does help them last longer. If you see this Rockport shoe on Amazon for less than $75! Buy them! They are (or have been) much more expensive than this. Just make sure you use the size chart with care to get the right size.

When they got broken in they seemed to fit worse not better
These shoes were ok at first, but after wearing them for a month they really started to hurt my feet. When they got broken in they seemed to fit worse not better. They put a callous on my right, little toe. I don't know what is wrong with them. They seem to be made out of quality material.
