Review: would still be a tremendous value at twice this price - First of all, I have had the same two-tone Rolex 16753 GMT Master for 25 years. So, you can imagine selecting a new watch was a difficult task. The GMT had to be serviced every 5 years or so at about $600 each time and now seems to be every few years. I looked at buying another Rolex and was shocked to find the prices are four times what I paid in the mid 80's. I ran across the Tissot PRS 516 and thought I would give it a try as a good everyday watch. I liked its looks and being a Swiss made automatic. Wow! I am so impressed with the build quality and finish of the PRS 516. I have had several friends comment on how much they liked my new watch. The GMT is 39mm in diameter so, the Tissot is a little larger and the band is also a little wider. It took a few days to not see it as being too large, now it seems just the right size. I have had the watch for a month now and just like other comments have said, the watch did run about 17 seconds fast per day right out of the box and now after checking it several times on time.gov; it is now after a month, running 6.5 seconds fast per day. My GMT always ran about 3 seconds fast per day. I might get the Tissot regulated at some point or maybe not. I read a comment about this watch might not be waterproof and that concerned me so I left it in a bucket of water for a day and I am happy to say no waterproof issues at all. The only critique I have about the watch is that the hour hand is the exact same width as the minute hand and can get lost under the minute hand. The GMT has a fatter hour hand with a bulb on the end, which I prefer. Overall this is a very high quality, well built and attractive watch and would still be a tremendous value at twice this price. I wear it every day now and love it! Review: Tissot PRS516 review - Having never owned a wristwatch, I was struck with idea of getting one. Since I didn't know much about what makes a good watch, I spent some time doing research on the internet. I know I wanted an swiss automatic sport watch. I discovered brands such as Tag, Oris, Omega, Hamilton, and Movado. For my first swiss automatic I didn't want to spend a lot of money but still wanted a nice looking, solid timepiece. The Tissot PRS516 caught my eye and the reviews were almost unanimously positive. It is quite heavy and really sturdy. It feels more expensive than it is. Very classy looking. I do have several minor complaints. It seems to need some calibration because it runs a bit faster than I like. My second complaint is the bracelet. It surely is of high quality but the fit is a little off. I had a half a link and a whole link removed and it still is a just a little large. When I removed two whole links, it was too tight. The moral of the story is: if you are looking for a great quality swiss automatic sport watch that doesn't break the bank, this is your watch. Just a side note that you do not get the manufacturer's warranty. Instead you deal with desertcart (which I hope is not painful). After a week of wearing the PRS516, I went out and purchased an ORIS F1 Williams. I can see a watch addiction forming. (by the way, the Oris F1 willaims watch is a step above the PRS516 but I love the Tissot too)

Awesome watch but not as described
Awesome watch but not as described. I purchased a new watch and received a used watch with many scratches on the bracelet and case. The box cover shown in the description was also missing. Watch was returned and will re order again. Hopefully I will have better luck.

Too heavy for comfort
I'm used to a watch from another generation, I suppose, so maybe my criticism is something that should be leveled against the current taste in watches for enormity. This is a very handsome watch, but it is so heavy that I think one should buy another to balance both arms out. I don't think I could ever get used to it. I returned it. It's the only item I ever returned to Amazon.

Elegant, but ...
Keeps accurate time and is definitately a masculine, elegant watch, but beware. If you don't wear it for more than 12 hours or so, it stops. I tried to do my homework by reading tons of reviews by others prior to my purchase, but not one person pointed this out. No, I don't believe there's a product defect with my particular purchase. For the money I spent, had I known about this issue beforehand, I would have selected another watch. Let's face it, if you spend more than $100 on a watch, you're buying jewelry.

Classic Stylish Timepiece
I got this for my Dad's Xmas present. He was complaining about having to get batteries for his previous watch which was also a Tissot. So I went looking online and found this particular watch which was priced quite attractively, had a clean yet classic look with day and date, and most importantly Swiss Automatic movement which means no batteries. Older people don't like fancy little dials that are confusing and difficult to read. Being a heavy watch is a bonus because my Dad likes the heavier feel. I think I made the right purchase because he loves his watch. When he found out how much it actually costed me, he couldn't believe it as he thought it was much more expensive than it actually was. Definitely a quality piece at a bargain price.

Thoughts
Swiss made, sapphire crystal and automatic. Cant go wrong. I chose all black (face and bezel) but the blue looks like it has more of a character with a silver inlay on the face. I was debating between the PRS 516 automatic (pictured) and the PRS 516 chronograph. I found the PRS 516 automatic used for cheaper the PRS 516 chrono and decided to go for it. My opinion: Great watch. I always went for the busy dial of a chrono so this was a change for me. Its a nice blend of a gents watch with just enough sparkle to catch the eye. When people comment on the watch its nice to point out and brag about the second hand sweep movement and how it works. Pop it off and show them the back to really blow there minds. Coworker said it looked well over a thousand dollar watch. The lume is not that great but works. The day and date is a little difficult to set because you cant set it at night but I managed to figure it out. Overall its a beautiful time piece that does not say look at me I need attention but offers some sparkle to say hi. Thanks Tissot.

Purchased from Price Loco. Received on July28th in Canada, one day earlier than the expected by begin date, thank you very much. The prs516 watch was absolutely brand new and immaculate as advertised. Came in original tissot box with all booklets and packaging. Initial impression: the watch still had all the original transparent plastic wrappings protecting the dial, backing, and bracelet. I was giddily surprised as I have not ever seen these watches protected this way in AD display counters (which is understandable as it would not look very appealing under display counters this way). This is a huge plus because now I know the watch has never been directly handled or tried on by others like they would in an actual shop (again assuming the shop is selling you the watch being displayed). On a totally separate note, I did lots of research on this watch and know the common fake pitfalls to watch out for. I'm 100% confident and satisfied with the authenticity of this watch. Next steps now are to resize this baby and start wearing it proudly. A Beautiful automatic Swiss timepiece.

I like automatics; have a Tag, Omega and also Orient, which is a great watch for a fraction of the price of the first two. This Tissot PR516 measures up well. The dial is vey sporty looking without being very loud. Nice understated classy looks; easy to read. The red second hand is a great touch. The lume is good with the dial clearly visible in the dark. This is a big watch, as you can see, 42 cm solid block of steel. I have a fairly slender wrist, but I wanted a large watch; if one has misgivings about a large watch, well, this a large watch. The bracelet is solid steel. The watch stands out and few people have already commented on it. Looks much more expensive than the 340-odd that I paid on Amazon. Tissot movements are usually very good, so am expecting good time keeping as well. Overall, great buy.
