I grew up visiting the Tarpon Springs sponge docks. I needed a new sponge and I’m glad I chose this one. Off the bat, it is 100% natural, all natural sponges start off with an ocean smell that dwindles with use. It’s definitely the species they claim, I have owned a lot of the different ones and this is the best for bath and shower. It’s gently exfoliating and soft but firm enough to handle easily when wet. It also arrived pre-clean, meaning I got zero sand out of it. So it has been very, very well cleaned. The one they picked for me is one I would have chosen myself, it’s perfectly formed. As for the size/trimming, it’s exactly how I would shape it for the perfect one handed shower sponge. In the past if I left my sponges intact and untrimmed, they would sometimes tear at the weaker spots and when they’re wet and kind of get floppy over time and too big for one hand then they start to rip and decline. Overall, this is great. Look up sponge care for the longest life (like never wringing) I have honestly kept a couple for years. And it’s perfectly sanitary to do so if you’re using them correctly. If I don’t make it back to tarpon springs before this one gets old, I will definitely order this particular product again.

My wife really loves this Sponge! She doesn't write reviews, but I do, if its "great," or if its, "not great." We'll, This sponge is great. Compared to the Plastic, or whatever you may call the ones that are harsh on your skin, leaves scratch marks and collects bacteria. This Sponge is soft, but yet effective on dead skin removal. No scratching, no chemicals, All-Natural and inexpensive. She also stated that the sponge covers all areas with its ability to contact flat surfaces(skin) because of its softness and softness, where the "plastic feeling" ones only cover where the folsing layers touch. Lastly you would use way less soap and water since its a sponge vs a scrubber.

These natural sea sponge's from Lather are great. I'm used to using a mildly abrasive mesh shower puff, so this took a few days to get used to. It's incredibly soft and glides over your skin like silk with a nice gentle exfoliating property. In fact, it's so soft that you probably won't even realize how well it cleans and revitalizes skin until you start getting compliments from friends and family on how much better your overall complexion looks. The rich lather that it creates from ANY soap or body wash is unbelievable. I use Dove Visible Care Toning body wash along with this sea sponge and it's almost like showering with body lotion. Can't say enough good things about it! The sponge can be a little difficult to rinse and dry completely at first because they retain so much soap. But as with any new experience, you'll get it down to your own science after a few uses and will think nothing of it. As a personal side note; I like to shower with Dial Gold Antibacterial Body Wash with this sponge about once a week to ensure it gets 100% cleansed of any odor causing bacteria or dead skin that I may have missed from rinsing it out in the days prior. Sea sponges are extremely efficient at filtering dead skin and impurities by nature, so the Antibacterial wash is just something of personal preference and absolutely not necessary to maintain cleanliness. I've used natural sea sponges in the past and I'm particularly impressed with the quality of this wool sponge from Lather. This has been a regular part of my showering routine for about 2 months now and there are no signs of deterioration except for a little fade in color. Most (and often times more expensive) natural sea sponge's that I've used in the past start to fall apart around the 2 week mark with regular use and reduced to shreds on my shower floor within a month. You won't find a better value for a sea sponge anywhere else! PRO'S: - Generates a really nice and luxurious lather - Pretty large size (more than enough for any adult) - Soft texture that's easy to hold - Gently exfoliates without irritating skin - Flat bottom to prevent it from rolling around everywhere - Very effective at overall cleaning - Dries quickly with no residue - Naturally filters dead skin, bacteria, and impurities - Durable quality and easy to maintain CON'S: - Can be difficult to rinse completely - Feels strange and mushy at first - Texture may be off-putting for people used to rough, mesh scrubbers

Quality and size are great but it’s way too soft. It scrunches down to a very small, somewhat mushy ball that hardly feels like it’s effectively cleaning.

I came back a few months after to change my review to 5 stars because it's been almost a year and it still works, the quality is good enough for it to still be firm yet soft, keep it's shape, no mildew and easy to clean. It's still almost as luxurious as when I first purchased it! A great value for money, should have rated it 5 stars instead of 4 right away.

My sponge although I wring it out completely of water and any soap residue, it’s already starting to mold. Also unless me other loofas or sponges mine is falling apart already. Won’t purchase again

Perfect size. Firm, yet soft.

So very nice and soft but there is an ugly hard black area. Otherwise it would thr best sponge I have had in awhile.
