ProAm USA Hood/Sunshade for 7 Inch LCD Video Monitors

I don't write a lot of reviews, but going through many of the ones for this product it seems like people have a misconception about how to use this product and are writing reviews based upon the product not living up to their misconception, rather than how effective the product is when actually used correctly. The manufacturer cannot possibly know the size of the device you are attaching this to. This is made for a 7 inch SCREEN, and the hood is designed to go around the screen, not the device. This hood is the perfect size for a 7 inch, 16:9 aspect ratio screen. You do not attach this to the top and sides of your device, you attach it around the screen bezel using the provided velcro strips. Please see the attached images. As for how this works: it works great! Once attached with the provided velcro strips, it stays in place even in heavy wind, yet is easily removable. The velcro provided is very low profile, so it won't catch on everything when the hood is not in place. The hood blocks the sunlight, as designed. If I had one complaint with this product, it would be that the bottom piece (since it is removable) does not form a perfect light seal when attached, because of the way it attaches. It would be better if it had flaps to attach to the sides of the top/side piece of the hood rather than just sticking to the bottom. But, it's really not that important, and the light leak is minimal. I can always just stick other pieces of velcro on the places where light leaks if it bothers me too much. 5/5 would buy again

I really was hoping that this was going to be a good product. I had purchased sun hoods for monitors by Proam before with much better results in quality. Im not sure what happend here but I am extremely disappointed.

his sunshade is perfect if it fits your LCD, I bought this sunshade for my 7" LCD however it did not fit properly around the trim of my LCD but all in all I had to practically force it to wrap around my monitor just to have some kind of use the way it supposed to be used.. Also I could not use the bottom art to it because of having to force it but because of my LCD dimensions the bottom portion of my LCD is not enclosed like the picture suggests. But it still gets the job done. Oh yea, it comes with this Velcro strip that u have to place on the LCD to allow the hood to stick which is how I was still able to use at least the top and side portions of the hood.

I was annoyed at first when I bought this for my Lilliput 7 inch monitor and realized it wasn't the right size. But it's so cheap that you can just bend it to fit. I don't mind having to have velcro stuck to my lilliput now, but it does make it annoying fitting it in the case I bought for it. It gets stuck on the foam and screws it all up. But whatever. It works way better than the tiny plastic hood that comes with my monitor.

Bought this to go with my proAm 7" monitor, we use it when we go out on shoots and now that it summer we've been doing a lot of outdoors stuff. This shade keeps the light off the screen so you can see it well, and can also protect it from debris and stuff if its windy. It's easy to mount, you get 4 sticky Velcro scrips to put on the monitor, once that's done you can put it on and pull it off quick. Overall, if you've got a proAm 7", get this, you will need it at some point :)

Doesn't really fit my Lilliput. The velcro doesn't adhere very well either. The hood that came with my Lilliput....broke in about 5 minutes. No solution as of yet. -2 stars-

This shade fits my 7" monitor well and only takes a moment to install. The only improvements I would make would be to include larger strips of velcro to attach the shade to your monitor, the ones I received were extremely narrow.

What is amazing is the monitors sold by (ProAm) are more than 7" long. But are closer to 8 inches LONG! So the cover, which is right at 7" long. Truly doesn't fit properly! Looks very Sloppy and UNPROFESSIONAL when you attach it to the monitor. The Velcro strips are very narrow and are totally useless. Because they have very poor sticky (one sided) tape! Which ALWAYS fail to keep the cover on the monitor. Again, because the monitor is to long, by an inch longer! Sad, just sad! Now to be fair. I haven't contacted (ProAm) or Amazon about the wrong size issue. But as a company, how can you NOT know your own product sizes? For equipment that go together! Double dah!!!! Until they re-measure,fit, then fix it.... Do NOT buy! You have been warned.
