Sling Goes the Strings of my Heart
I have always used the strap that came with the camera to hang it around my neck. Then when watching a video I saw a camera sling and thought that's for me. So after researching on Amazon, I decided on this one. Of course price was a factor that played into the choice, but also I wanted a secure sling. I looked at the hooks that secure the camera to the sling, and this one looked to be the best.First lets talk about the sling. It's wide and long, meaning you can adjust the sling so the camera will hang down to your knees. It has a large padded section on the sling that will go on the side on your neck and shoulder for comfort. In that padded section is a zippered pouch that takes up half the padded section. To secure the sling to the camera there is a thick metal plate with a thumb wheel to screw into the tripod threads. Connecting the plate to the sling is a hook. There is a metal collar that unscrews to the bottom of the latch to open the latch or screws to the top of the hook to secure the latch. When I first started using the sling, I would unscrew the collar and separate the camera from the sling, leaving the metal plate attached to the camera. Over a short amount of usage the collar started having trouble tightening up at the top of the hook in order to lock the latch. As you tighten the collar it jumps a thread and you start tightening again. I think some would call that stripped threads. But even with that, the collar does secure and the latch will not open unless you screw the collar down. I am not concerned my camera is in danger, but I thought it was worth a mention. So now I disconnect the sling by using the thumb wheel. The way I have the sling adjusted the camera grip is right at my hand. I do like the sling, but without going to a store to try one out it will be difficult to choose the one with the best hook. I would like to rate it at 5 stars, but 4 will have to do.

Awesome Camera Strap
I try to avoid hyperbole in my product reviews, but this strap has been absolutely terrific. I learned about these types of shoulder straps after watching a professional photography seminar in which the speaker recommended this style of strap. It seems a bit strange at first but after using it for some time now, it just makes sense. I don't understand why the camera companies don't arrange the strap holds in this fashion by default because it works so much better. I cannot stress how much more functional this strap style is than the standard camera strap. I have a Canon EOS Rebel T2i - gone are the days of shoulder strain and nearly smacking my camera lens against walls and doors. It's so easy to just have the camera at my side and be able to quickly slide it up in front of me with one hand. When at rest the camera comfortably sits on my hip and the lens points down. It has been great for crowded areas where my lens would otherwise be sticking out and hitting people. This allows my camera to very discreetly rest at my side without banging into my surroundings. Although the strap does attach to the tripod screw hole, it has its own screw hole beneath so you can still mount it to a tripod without removing the strap. I love it and I will never, ever use a traditional camera strap again.

Works good in general
In general, I like this strap and it works good (although this is my first other than the default Canon strap). I love the idea of this and it makes it much more enjoyable to carry the camera than the standard neck strap. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that it has some adjustable clips that help to keep the camera from sliding all over, but the clips only stay put when clipped on the strap that's doubled over. When clipped on just a single strap, they still tend to slip. Redesigning these clips, or giving a few that work on a double-strap and a few that work on a single-strap, would be better.Overall, I am happy with the purchase and it's SO much better than the neck strap - but it's just not quite as good as it could be with a little improvement to the clips.

Waiting for a response from CowboyStudio
I really really wanted this to work and I hope it still does. While I was revelling in how much lighter my heavy camera and heaviest lens felt on my body during a shoot the other day...bam!, my camera comes loose from the SCREWED on base attachment and hits the ground. Thank goodness I had my lens hood on because it absorbed the brunt of the force and is so much easier to replace (which I have had to do because it cracked) than the other components. Only a few minutes before the camera fell I had double checked it for security so all I can think is that the movement of my body somehow jostled the camera loose? Consequently, i'm scared to not have my hand on my camera at all times now which pretty much defeats the purpose of why I bought this sling. I emailed customer support on the CowboyStudio site yesterday but no word yet.I head it through the grapevine that there is an alternative way to attach your camera to this particular strap, anyone know of it?It will be a great product if I can ever feel safe using it again.

Stay away from neck ache
I was a bit concerned before deciding to buy the product. I have read so many negative comments and complaint about broken latches, straps, carabina....Maybe the company after reviewing all these complaints was able to solve issues because with the one that I got I haven't any problem.Actually when carrying the camera it happened many times that I've been stopped by people asking me where they might be able to buy it.Very useful and comfortable to use. This is a really nice and inexpensive way to carry your camera. Particularly, I enjoy using it because it keeps my hands free while the camera is always handy. Also I get the weight off my neck! For me now, is much easier to carry my camera, especially when I'm using a 18-200mm lens.
