Great Iron - Pretty too
I was a bit leary of buying this iron, as it is quite expensive, but I decided to go for it. My old iron was decent, but cheap. This is a HUGE upgrade. Loads of steam, it heats up quickly, and it is very pretty with the floral pattern on it. This is a very hefty iron - which is good - the weight means I don't have to bear down on it like with my old iron. There is a huge amount of steam coming out of this iron - even more if you switch it to turbo. I was able to iron 3 dress shirts in under 20 minutes, which is a huge improvement over my old iron. I was able to iron the sleeves from one side, without flipping and ironing the other side, and the crease in the sleeve is razor sharp. After ironing the three shirts I still have half a tank of water left. One thing I have noticed is that while this iron heats up much faster than my old iron, it takes WAY longer to cool down. This really is a good thing, it means that it retains its heat better, and is ready for another shot of steam very quickly. I do wish the cord was black, but that is a minor quibble that has no impact on the performance of the iron. The cord isn't super long, but I have one of those whip cord holder things from Polder that clamps onto the ironing board, and I had no issues with reach, even though that elevates the cord 2 feet above the ironing board. I do generally iron quite close to a socket though. Worst case scenario, you buy an extension cord (buy one that is rated to carry enough power for the iron - you don't want to burn your house down.

Rowenta - Good Iron
I use this iron mainly for quilting. It does a fine job on clothes too, though I can only speak for cotton. I haven't tried ironing with the lower temperatures. I like that the iron has a bit of weight to it as well as a nice balance in the hand. Great steaming. It is one of the best shot of steam irons I have owned. I tested the water spray as well. It works nicely. Iron heats up quickly. There's been no spitting or leaking. There was a bit of residue coming out of the iron when I first started using it; however, the user pamphlet explained it was normal and it stopped after my first few passes with it and a few steam shots. It did not damage my fabric. I've been using the iron almost every day for the past couple of weeks. This is my second Rowenta in 10 years. I gave my first one to someone who needed an iron. It was a great iron too. I would have bought the same one, but the model was no longer manufactured. Both were made in Germany, but I thought all of them were German products. Picked this one because my last Rowenta was a great iron and this one seemed to have the best reviews of the newer Rowenta models.

Love the iron, worth the money
I bought this iron to replace my 30 year old Rowenta and I really love all the upgrades. I bought this model despite the negative reviews as I loved the lovely appearance, I admit it, and I'm so glad that I did! I'm a quilter and I find that the steam works fabulously to quickly iron whatever piece I'm working on. Whoever wrote about a chintzy burst of steam button was using the wrong button, the burst button is solid and works great. I appreciate the cup that comes with the iron to refill it as it is designed well and holds exactly the amount you need to fill the chamber, which by the way is easy to see into. I like the weight even tho it is a tad heavy as it presses things in a jiffy. Very comfortable to my hand. When it auto turns off, the iron turns back on by placing horizontally and heats up within seconds so that is not an issue. I love the tapered nose and the coverage of all the steam holes. This is just a well designed and wonderful iron; Totally worth the money. Mine says Made in Germany.

This iron leaks like crazy
I am currently working on resolving the problem with Rowenta, so if I am able to get this iron repaired or replaced, I will change the review. I am giving it such a low star review for a few reasons. It was pricey for an iron, and I've owned a cheapo Black & Decker iron that worked fine for 10 years so I'm pretty disappointed just for that reason. I bought this iron specifically to use with steam, and it leaks like crazy if there is water in the machine. This iron initially seemed like a great iron, but it started leaking badly within a month of purchase. I would use the iron intermittently while sewing. I would come back to the iron and it would have dumped the entire reservoir onto my ironing board and the floor, or I would be ironing and it would randomly just start leaking everywhere, sometimes staining the fabric I was ironing on. When I got in touch with a service representative, they suggested that based on my area code, the water I was using on the steam setting was too hard for the iron, and they suggested using spring water instead of tap water. (BTW, tap water was the type of water that is recommended in the manual. I always thought that distilled water was best for irons, but I was just going by the instructions in the manual.) I followed the instructions for cleaning the iron before filling it with spring water, and I used it and cleaned it multiple times, but the leaking just got worse. At this point I am sending it out to be repaired by a Rowenta approved repair place, which is really not an ideal fix, as I really need an iron right now, and I may need to go out and purchase a new iron regardless if Rowenta fixes my iron. Outcome Nov '21 The customer service from Rowenta was good. I sent the machine (prepaid by Rowenta) to the certified repair place. About a month and a half later I received a new iron, so they must not have been ale to refurbish. I did have to purchase another iron in the meantime.

Este modelo en especial ya lo habia comprado hace aproximadamente 10 años y a la fecha funciona bien pero ya era tiempo de renovarla, no es barata pero vale la pena y utiliza agua de la llave lo cual es un ahorro.

This iron is great, the only caveat is that itnisna bit heavy and it can get strenuous if you want to do alot of ironing at once. But yes I know there is always something... But other than that this iron so far has been great. It heats up super fast, the steam it like a jet engine and because it is heavier it gets out deep wrinkles and truly is almost impossible to tip over accidentally. It looks great too, let's see how sturdy it is. I did alot of research and consistently found Rowenta at the top of the list. My last sunbeam iron lasted 15 years before it conked out... I hope this bad boy/lady stands the test of time. Oh and the self clean feature is great too!

Planchado suave y más rápido. No me gusta planchar, sin embargo con esta plancha no se hace pesado.
