I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing my review but I so impressed with this watch out of the box I couldn't wait. I've read some negative reviews on the watch battery dying after a few weeks. I am sure there is some bad batches out there. This was one major concern I have to be honest. I almost didn't buy it for this reason. I am crossing my fingers this isn't true with mine and plan this watch to me my everyday go to watch. This is my first G shock watch also and I'm blown away with the quality and simple style of this watch. I am a watch collector and wanted to add this watch to my collection. This is not only ideal for military personnel but anyone who is looking for a rugged durable everyday work horse watch. I will revise my review should I have any issues but for now I am very content with the purchase. I am glad I did purchased this solid watch mainly to the gym and outdoors. It appears bullet proof ready for the harshest conditions. Only time will tell if this watch lives up to the name. The back light is a cool light green and the dial us easy to see in the dark. For under $45 bucks this watch was worth every penny. I can't think of any watches that is such as high quality for that price. It super comfort able to wear on the wrist and does not pinch on th. This particular model is a few years old but the skin like some watches do. It's a older model but better than some current models that are higher in price. Its just my opinion. If this watch lasts long time then I will purchase another G shock again in the future.

I've purchased this watch at least three times. The reason I keep buying it is because I keep setting it down somewhere and losing it. I've never had to replace a battery, possibly because I lost the oldest one. I found two of the watches I lost, one from 2017, the other from 2018. At least, I assume one of them isn't from 2013. They are tough. I've banged my watch around, dropped it, and whacked it on concrete. The worst thing that happened was a pin slipped out of the band, but I just put it back in, and moved on with my day. They've survived downpours, submersion, showers, sweat, heat, and cold. I only have two complaints. One, they run a little fast. Two, the buttons are a little mushy, so configuring the watch is annoying. Other than that, they've been perfect, and well worth the $39.42 (2013), $39.99 (2017), and $42.40 (2018) that I paid for them. I'd buy this watch a fourth time, but I've been pretty good about not losing my watches, so I might upgrade to a fancier G-Shock. Absolutely buy with confidence. It's a relatively inexpensive, high quality, tough watch that lasts forever.

Wonderful watch

I bought this Casio G-Shock DW9052-1V for my son when he was 14 as his very first watch. At the time, I figured if a watch could survive teenage boy behavior, it deserved some kind of military award. Well, here we are 13 years later, and this thing is STILL going strong. This watch has survived middle school, sports, questionable teenage decisions, being dropped, slammed, submerged, and probably at least one attempt to “see what happens if…” It’s basically the cockroach of watches — absolutely indestructible. Meanwhile, I’ve replaced phones, laptops, chargers, earbuds, and approximately 47 water bottles in the same time period. The G-Shock just keeps ticking away like, “Pathetic.” The battery lasts forever, it still looks good, and it has officially outlived several phases of my son’s personality. At this point I’m convinced this watch will be passed down to future generations like a family heirloom forged in a volcano. If you need a durable watch for a kid, teen, or chaotic human in general, this is the one.

I have never been a huge lover of negative displays, Casios negative displays are somewhat poor on most models, unless it is an STN display or a MIP display, this model has neither so unless in direct sunlight the visibility isnt great. I hydromoded this, it involves filling the inside of the watch totally in oil inside the case, it improves legibility while at the same time increasing the water resistance to upwards of 1000 m. The rest of this watxh is basic, what Casio does best at this price point is value for money, it has the basic features, world time, stopwatch, timer etc, it does not have an auto Led, that comes on at the tilt of the wrist which a lot of Casios do have, a shame because this would have been a nice feature, in fact due to the visibility of this watch an auto led would be extremely useful. However the light does luminate nicely at the press of a button. A nice watch, but at the same price Casio does better watches Dw5000 would be a great buy at a lesser cost than this watch, but as with all Casios they cater for everyone at every price point, there is no shortage of choice from Casio. Please be aware the readability of this watch can be frustrating and the hydromod, should only be done either by someone who knows what they are doing or with the knowledge that they are partaking in a risk, negating the Casio warranty.

Got these simply because the color scheme is close to my school colors to wear during March Madness (lol). Never disappointed by G-Shocks and these are very comfortable and wears well for a very cheap price.

The product arrived on time and works as expected. Good quality for the price.

I m happy that product is not fake and it's actual G- shock watch from Casio, if you have used G-shock before then I don't think so I have to write anything about it here because it's understood. But still for new users I would say go for it blindly. G-shock is a very good product of Casio and I Have used it before and recently I bought it for my boyfriend. He loved it.
